Beltain translates as ‘bright or good fire’ and Beltain energy is one of reverence for all of Life! It is impossible to celebrate Beltain without lighting a fire, which is central to the celebration. In times gone by people would bring wood to the fire and a tradition of ‘leaping’ the fire would be undertaken. Beltain is a time for making a ‘pledge’, stating what your intention is as you head towards the Summer.
